After 2 years, I have finally finished my Ice Cream Soda Quilt! It took lots and lots of time in front of the TV hand sewing each piece together. When I first started, I could only sew for 30 minutes before my fingers would start tingling, but now, I can sew for 2 hours straight. My hands are so buff and my rings don't fit anymore. :P For the backing, I found some Cotton and Steel, Lagoon by Rashida Coleman-Hale, on sale. I had to buy 4 yards, then cut and piece together for the backing. The next step is choosing a quilt design for my long arm quilting service. I'm trying to decided between some swirls and banana pattern... I've reached out to a local long-arm quilter and hope to drop off in the next week or so, then it'll be another 6-8 weeks before I get this back to do the binding.
