Here is a new quilt that I've been working on for my niece in Florida. This was a great scrap-buster and there are some fabrics I've had for at least 5 years! I'm loving how the colors turned out. Piecing together the squares diagonally was a lot more complicated that I originally thought it would be. I had to draw a diagram to make sure I cut the sides correctly. Just need to quilt it and bind and it'll be off to Florida!

I thought it was time to make a new quilt for my 7-year old son. He's recently started really liking his baby quilt, so I thought he needed a more appropriately sized blanket.
I've been collecting space, math, and science themed fabric for the past few years. I even included a goat fabric because we've rented goats twice now to eat the blackberries in our wetland. I saw a quilt on instagram with dark stars on low-volume square backgrounds. I thought it would be cool to flip that and make whitish stars on a dark background. |
